Doubling Hope: Support Our Mission of Education and Transformation

Every unrestricted, tax-deductible contribution you make will be doubled, up to a total of $10,000. This generous matching donation comes from the Harrison/Hazard family, long-time supporters of the Precious Project. They have not only sponsored children's residential care and education but also funded special projects, demonstrating their commitment to making a difference. The family has personally visited Nshupu, Tanzania multiple times, where they met the Precious Home resident children, the dedicated Precious School teachers, and over 600 children from pre-kindergarten through Form 4/ secondary school.

This year has been one of challenges and transitions for Precious Project, Inc. As you may know, we unexpectedly lost our co-founder and leader, William, earlier in the year. His passing left a void that seemed insurmountable, but the strength of our community and the dedication of our team have enabled us to persevere in the face of adversity.

In the wake of William's passing, Sarah, our co-founder and his widow, has admirably taken up the role of Director. Her leadership has been nothing short of inspiring, earning the respect of our staff, government officials, parents, and the broader community. Sarah's unwavering commitment to realizing William's vision has been a driving force that has kept us united and focused on our mission.

The Precious team in Tanzania has rallied together, their energy and dedication serving as a testament to the profound impact of William's legacy. One noteworthy example is Mr. Mkuizu, who has assumed an expanded role as the General Manager. In addition to covering for Sarah when needed, he has taken on responsibilities ranging from recruiting new teachers to managing the fee collection process, overseeing purchasing, and ensuring quality control. In total, Mr. Mkuizu now oversees 15 critical areas, demonstrating the resilience and adaptability of our team.

We are thrilled to share that we currently have almost 900 students enrolled in our primary and secondary schools. Our students continue to achieve at the highest level, ranking our schools amongst the best in Tanzania. Their success is not only recognized within our community but also acknowledged by the Tanzanian government. In August, our school was honored with "The Torch Award" for academic excellence and innovative teaching techniques that are STEAM-centered and integrated with technology, as no other school in the country has done.

Despite the challenges, we have continued to make great strides in our mission to provide quality education and support to the children and families we serve. Your contributions have been instrumental in allowing us to navigate this period of transition and ensure that Precious Project remains a beacon of hope for our community.
